Alkira was a lovely surprise until we had to book accommodation at the last minute for a wedding in Knysna. We actually had to be there earlier to be able to float in the pool that hangs high above the lagoon. But sitting on the porch very early the next morning, with freshly ground coffee, was just as good. Reception was warm and friendly, breakfast with other foreign guests was top notch. The view in all directions is phenomenal. Because it is located in a private reserve, we slept with room doors to the fynbos wide open - the shower is also built that way.
