Artemis Cottages are quiet, private and pet-friendly, self-catering cottages located in Franschhoek. Soak up the country atmosphere while enjoying all the home comforts, with beautiful views across Franschhoek valley. The cottages are attached to the Blue Lion Art Gallery owned and curated by well-known local artist, Andrea Desmond-Smith, and have been eclectically decorated and furnished.

The property offers accommodation in 2 units, Akkedis and Gecko Cottage.

Akkedis can accommodate up to 3 guests and contains a bedroom, bathroom, a kitchen and a lounge area. The bedroom contains a king-size bed and a standing fan. The bathroom contains a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. There is a single bed in the same room for a third guest.

Gecko Cottage can accommodate up to 2 guests and contains a bedroom, bathroom, a kitchen and a lounge area. The bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and a standing fan. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin.

Both units feature a kitchen that is equipped with a fridge, microwave, electric frying pay and hot plate. Please note there is no stove/oven. There is a fireplace for cosy fireside sitting in the kitchen, and wood is supplied. The cottage opens to an outside area that boasts stunning views of the surrounding Franschhoek Mountains.

The cottages are set in a large 3-hectare indigenous fynbos garden with unique statues and garden art, and a labyrinth. There is also a stunning swimming dam fed with mountain water. Being west facing, it is a wonderful sundowner spot! Beautiful evenings can be spent in the lapa under the trees where you can braai while enjoying the peace and serenity. Your host, Andrea, will be happy to take you on a guided walk around her beautiful property, by arrangement.
