Description

Located in the Eastern Cape on Austrey Farm, this tranquil cottage is nestled in the foothills of the Winterberg Mountains, approximately 40 km from Adelaide.

Austrey Lodge offers accommodation for up to 5
guests and features an open-plan design. The unit is furnished with a double bed, a tri-bunk bed, and a double sleeper couch in a shared area. A shower, toilet, and washbasin are available in the bathroom.

The cottage provides a well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge, gas plate stove, a kettle, and a selection of cutlery and crockery.

On chilly winter nights, guests can enjoy the warmth of an indoor fireplace. The cottage boasts a covered area at the front, featuring a deck, a hot tub, and a braai area. From this vantage point, guests can take in the scenic views of the trout dam, which is available for fishing. Guests can also explore the farm on foot, trail running, or mountain biking.For bird watching enthusiasts you can be spoilt with sightings of the majestic Cape vultures, Black eagles and the occasional sightings of the gorgeous Narina trogon and knysna loeries to name a few

The farm offers several other dams, each home to various fish species, for fishing enthusiasts at an additional cost. It's worth noting that Austrey Lodge is located quite a distance from the nearest shops and restaurants, so guests are advised to bring all their necessary supplies. Snowfalls can be expected occasionally, so guests should be prepared to cosy up beside the fireplace during winter.
