Gudi was amazing - extra candles for a dinner party. A complimentary couscous salad made by Gudi - delicious.

A very relaxed stay, Gudi and John are the perfect hosts. We will be back. Not on the lagoon but within walking distance, and who doesn't want to walk the island?

Very disappointed in the quality of the accommodation.

We booked Belatage specifically to have accommodation in an upmarket part of Knysna, and paid for it in full (not just a deposit, as we were called "one"nighters"!) some 4 months ago. On arrival we were assured that all lights, TV and plugs would be available during loadshedding, but after 1 hour of this luxury there was no lights, no TV, no WiFi, etc. The towels in both bathrooms are old and hard and can be used for sandpaper. The bathroom in the ground floor apartment smelt of sewage. No soap or shampoo in showers, and if there is no power there is no hot water, almost immediately. It was obvious to us that the price we paid was based on location, nothing else. This accommodation seriously needs an upgrade.

Hi Sydney, Thank you for your review.
The battery system works best when only a light or 2 is on and the Wi-fi. When it is overloaded, it will unfortunately only last an hour. Our towels are all sun-dried and we do not use softeners as we try to limit our negative impact on the environment.

Wonderful peaceful place with all you need to cater for yourself, very welcoming hosts!

We arrived very tired in need of a break from work and recovery from illness. We had a great night's sleep in a comfortable bed. The bicycles make it possible to explore the island in a relaxed way. We also went swimming on an incoming tide, towels were provided. We very much enjoyed our stay!
