Description

Birches Cottage & Willows Garden Room are nestled in a quiet corner of the Drakensberg World Heritage Park, with the cascading Umzimkulu river on 1 side and blue mountain skies on the other. Accommodation consists of a luxurious, self-catering cottage and small, adjacent garden room which combine luxurious country living with a host of outdoor adventures and self-drive activities.

The Birches Cottage comfortably hosts 2 adults. The living room with kitchenette includes a fridge, 4-plate stove with overhead extractor, microwave, toaster, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. A cosy gas fire, panel heaters, and electric blankets are provided, to counter the chilly Underberg winter nights. Floors are covered in sumptuous carpets. It has a TV with Openview.

The bedroom has an extra-length king-size bed. It has a full en suite bathroom with a shower, bath, and double basins.

The Willows Deluxe Garden Room is a bedsit, ideal for 2 adults seeking a romantic getaway. The Willows is a favourite with honeymoon couples. The bedroom is fitted with a king size bed and a romantic en suite bathroom with separate bath and shower. The Willows Garden Room has a patio that leads onto the garden. There is a barbecue directly in front of the room. Although it is not self catering, it does have a bar fridge, microwave, and beverage preparation area. It has a TV with OpenView bouquet.

Both facilities have a garden view with parking provided alongside.

The cottage and garden room are situated op a beautiful 6-hectare estate, 4 km outside Underberg and guests are encouraged to partake of all facilities on offer. There is 2 km of meandering footpaths leading to the Umzimkulu River with decks and picnic spots offering splendid views of the surrounding mountains and the river valley.
