Nice quiet getaway place.

We were impressed by this remote place close to Simonstown. The cottage has everything we needed. Clear, nice-tasting spring water included. The sustainable concept is impressive, and the walk up the mountain in the company of one of the friendly, caring dogs was a pleasure. We plan to come again.

Close proximity to Smitswinkel Bay - great.

The 'yes' recommendation is qualified - not suitable for someone unable to climb steps comfortably. Very much a country feeling - solar power only, so no TV, microwave, etc. and water pressure is low. But for all that a pleasant stay in a natural environment.

Hierdie was ons tweede keer by die berghuisie. Die eerste keer met ons wittebrood 7 jaar gelede en nou weer met ons huweliksherdenking (hierdie keer plus 2 klein kinders onder 3). Met aankoms was ons vriendelik gegroet deur die gasheer wat heeltyd gesorg het dat alles na ons smaak is en dat dinge glad verloop. Ons het regtig weer heerlik gebly en die kombuis geniet wat alles het wat oop en toe maak. Die feit dat die huis van sonkrag gebruik maak, is ook 'n pluspunt. Puik wegbreekplek vir enige iemand wat wil wegkom van die geraas.

This was our second time at the mountain house. The first time with our honeymoon 7 years ago and now again with our wedding anniversary (this time plus 2 small children under 3). Upon arrival we were greeted kindly by the host who made sure all the time that everything was to our liking and that things ran smoothly. We really had a great stay again and enjoyed the kitchen which has everything that opens and closes. The fact that the house uses solar power is also a plus. Great getaway for anyone looking to get away from the noise.
