Unit satisfactory, service not good.

This was not a good experience booking this unit and expected a better check-in and check-out experience. The day before checking in I tried to contact the host Burger, but got no reply from the WhatsApp messages I sent. On the day of our arrival, we tried to call instead as I, thought perhaps his WhatsApp was down. I continued to try and try but nothing. He called and explained that his phone was dead and was now receiving calls etc. I told him that my son and husband were leaving Stellenbosch and that they would be arriving at 2 pm, which is check-in time. I asked him if, should they let him know when they leave to ensure that he is there when they arrive. He said no problems. They tried everything to get hold of him and nothing. Eventually, they managed to get hold of him, Burger, of which he said a lady would meet them at the front of the building. 20 Minutes later, which was close to 2:30 pm the lady who was supposed to be cleaning the unit told me that it was not ready and would only be ready between 3 and 3:30 pm. My husband explained that it was 2 pm and she giggled and obnoxiously told him that would not be the case and even after my husband showed her the check-in times on email, no assistance was offered. Intern, they were told to park in the wrong parking spots and almost got clamped and had to move their cars. Thank goodness the security realised what the story was. Eventually, they got into the unit and could see that a rushed cleaning job had been done, which was unsatisfactory. In the end, my husband moved and cleaned areas. They had to stay as the Cape Town Cycle Tour was on and there was no other accommodation available. On Monday, when leaving the unit, Burger told them to leave the keys in the unit, my husband explained to Burger that for him to exit the building he needed the tag key for the lifts and parking area. So in the end Burger told my husband to leave the keys at security at the front desk. Security refused to accept the keys as they don’t keep keys and eventually, my husband had to make his own plan, which was to ask security to be so kind as to put keys in the post-box as there was no other solution. The unfortunate part is that when it came to assistance, we never met him in person. Not on arriving nor on leaving.
