Serenity and tranquility.

Absolute serenity. Such a beautiful place to stay and unwind. The host is fantastic and took us out to the farmhouse, and the food provided was amazing. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Lindy is baie verwelkomend en die plaashuis is baie mooi en netjies. Dis egter 'n jammerte dat ons nie vooraf of tydens bespreking ingelig was dat daar geen krag op die plaas is nie en dat dit reeds 2 dae die geval was. Dit was nie loadshedding nie. 'n Generator is verskaf vir die paar uur voor ons gaan slaap het, maar die plaas is baie ver uit die dorp en afgeleë en alles was pikdonker en daar is geen sekuriteit of selfoonsein op die plaas nie. Geen warm water om te kom stort na ons lang reis nie a.g.v. die krag. Die deur van die sitkamer staan heeltemal oop (lyk stukkend of iets kan nie toemaak en sluit nie) en geen diefwering voor enige van die ruite nie. Alle vertrekke het groot, oop ruite waarby 'n groot persoon maklik kan inklim. Die aand was baie onaangenaam. Donker, warm, sonder enige werkende fan/aircon en baie kommerwekkend wat sekuriteit asook ligging betref. Vooraf voorsiening moet gemaak word om nodige items te koop voor mens na die huis gaan want dis omtrent 'n 35-minute rit terug na die dorp. Ons aankoms was na 4 pm en ons het lank gewag om te kon in check en dit was al amper donker toe ek moes terug dorp toe vir koue water/ys/kos ens. Grondpad kort ook 'n "high clearance" voertuig.

Our arrival was after 4 pm and we waited a long time to be able to check in and it was almost dark when I had to go back to town for cold water/ice/food etc. Ground road also needs a "high clearance" vehicle.

Smaakvol en gasvry.

Lindy is 'n wonderlike gasvrou. Behalwe vir haar vriendelikheid en omgee is die blyplek wonderlik. Als is keurig, smaakvol maar gemaklik en huislik. Volgende keer beplan ek om langer te bly!

Spectacular setting on a deep rural Free State farm - but only for the adventurous.

This is not recommended for an overnight stay, but would be great for a longer period, and if you have a 4x4. The house is really huge, with multiple attractive rooms, suitable for a big party and is well furnished and equipped, on a working animal farm with truly spectacular countryside, as all around Philippolis. However, the roads to the town have a fair amount of potholes (though we've seen worse) and the sand road to the farm could be a nightmare in the wet, needs a 4-wheel drive. Would have liked to stay longer.
