Lovely, clean property, but poor customer service.

We were reluctantly welcomed by a young lady (after struggling to get in at the gate), no hot water for our shower the first evening (then lied to the next morning about just having to turn the tap the other way), breakfast took a very long time (despite agreeing a time, we still had to wait 30 minutes), no remote for the air conditioner (and none supplied, despite asking for it and there clearly was one, as it was briefly switched on on Sunday morning), no channels available on the TV, the 1 pillow cover was a towelling fabric, so I used the other pillow's pillowcase over that (maybe they thought we had stolen it?). Also, upon opening the curtains, the one curtain rail at the top almost fell on my head, it must have been loose? The amenities also weren't great, it would have been lovely to have earbuds/cotton swabs and an extra hand towel. The reception lady was not particularly friendly or welcoming, she made zero effort to recommend any local businesses or try to build rapport. All of the above would not have bothered us much as we really only slept there, but we were made to feel like criminals when we left. She told us to wait "so she could check our room". In all my years of traveling, not a single person has ever asked me this. I can fully understand if the establishment has previously had issues with theft, but there are a myriad of other ways to quickly check a room without embarrassing guests. We were quite offended.

Heerlike tyd van rus en net wees!

Die kothuis waarin ons gebly het, Spoonbill, was stylvol en baie privaat. Die 2 mak Springbokkies wat voor ons stoep geslaap en gewei het, was ’n ekstra bonus.’n Wonderlike gasvrou. Dear Raymond,

As explained, the burst water pipe was beyond our control, however we were happy to have it up and running again 30min later. The power outage as well was beyond our control due to a heavy storm that knocked out some transformer. Again, power was restored by Eskom within a few hours.

We are a small start up business (SMME) and hope to invest in the necessary infrastructure soon.

Whilst these were all beyond our control, I apologize for any inconveniences caused.
