Description
Makhato Lodge 70 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 70 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, an upstairs loft room, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen and scullery and an open-plan dining and living area. The first bedroom contains a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath, a shower, twin washbasins, and a toilet. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds, and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath, a shower, twin washbasins, and a toilet. The open-plan upstairs loft room contains a double bed and 2 single beds, and a bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. The loft room opens to a covered balcony.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, a dining counter with seating, and a separate scullery with a dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area contains a 6-seater dining table and chairs. The comfortable lounge contains a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. Outside, there is a covered patio area with outdoor dining furniture. There is also a separate thatched lapa with a built-in braai area.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
