For a leisurely stroll from Molenhuis, walk up Truter Street, towards CBD. A mere 5-minute walk you will find De Bakkerij. They bake the best breads and rolls in town. You can enjoy a cup of their famous Terbadore Coffee while enjoying the best toasted sandwiches or a light breakfast. De Bakkerij also sells local produce, jams, preserves, and clotted cream. From De Bakkerij you take Paul Kruger Street, heading towards the Dutch Reformed Church. On your way to the church you will pass the local fruit and veg shop, a cake boutique and the pharmacy.
For a drive, take Barry Street on your right when leaving Molenhuis. Drive all the way down until you reach the main road. Turn left into the main road and while driving you will pass some coffee shops, coffee roasters, restaurants and a wine shop. The nursery on your right has a tea garden, Cafe Rosa, where you can enjoy a breakfast or lunch, while viewing all the beautiful plants in the garden. Opposite Cafe Rosa is a restaurant, Bourbon Street where you can enjoy dinner.
For groceries, drive from Molenhuis up Truter Street, turn right into Paul Kruger Street until you get to Church Street. Turn left into Church Street and in that street you will find Mr Price, Pick n Pay, some banks and small shops. At the end of of Church Street you will find Robertson Quarter - this shopping centre is ideal as you will find Checkers, Clicks, an Optometrist, a shoe shop and many more.
