Description

Pelican Point Lodge offers a unique setting on the remote Peninsula of Pelican Point in Walvis Bay, with the untouched beaches of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the lagoon of Walvis Bay on the other. Guests can enjoy beautiful, ever-changing views of the surroundings.

Accommodation is offered in 10 suites, decorated and furnished in style and luxury. The suites are situated in the old harbour control building, located at the foot of the lighthouse.

Each suite is equipped to cope with the climatic changes of the Peninsula in mind. Each suite includes a queen-size bed, a bathroom, a seating area, a bio-eco fireplace, a private safe for valuables, a hairdryer, slippers, and a deck area to enjoy amazing views of the lagoon. Most of the suites have bathrooms with 2 showers and 2 basins and the honeymoon suite has a bathroom with a bath and shower.

Guests can enjoy a lavish breakfast and a 3-course dinner served daily. Meals are served in the dining room or on the deck, depending on the weather. Guests can also enjoy breakfast in their rooms if preferred. A 3-course lunch is available on request.

The lodge offers a Wi-Fi hotspot in the restaurant area, a lounge where guests can read, relax and have a drink before sitting down to dine, and a deck area for watching the sunset, sunrise, jackals, seals and beautiful scenery. Complimentary coffee, tea, soft drinks and water is available.
Guests can expect to hear the call of the jackal at night while they wander around the lodge, listen to the sounds of around 3000 seals interacting with each other, and watch ships come and go, observing the light beams of the lighthouse at night. Enjoy the beautiful landscape and relax to the sound of breaking waves close by.
In order to maximize the experience at Pelican Point Lodge, we recommend a minimum stay of 2 nights.
With our unique location in the Dorob national park, we are very much aware of the surrounding eco-system and hence do our best to minimize our carbon footprint by running the generator only at certain times, i.e. for a few hours in the morning and for a few hours in the evening; our team does switch the generator on if required and at additional charge. During the times that the generator is off, we run water on gravitational feed.

Pelican Point Lodge is situated on the eco-fragile Pelican Point peninsula and is only accessible via a 4x4 vehicle as part of an escorted self-drive or by a 4x4 transfer operated by Pelican Point Lodge. Un-escorted self-driving is not allowed. Self-driving guests will be met at a designated meeting point at 3pm on the day of arrival, details will be communicated upon booking. Fly-in guests will be picked up complimentary at the airport of Walvis Bay, at additional charge at the airports Swakopmund or Arandis.
