A getaway that every soul needs from time to time.

The cottage was absolutely perfect and set at the foot of the most beautiful mountain view. Our hosts went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect.

Beautiful and comfortable place to get away from the city.

We had an amazing start to our road trip at Proteaceae. The cottage is even better than the pictures and is comfortable and fully equipped. There is no cell reception, so you can completely relax and get away from everything. You can hike all over the large farm and there is a beautiful river with waterfalls and rock pool to enjoy. Our dogs had a blast and really enjoyed the 4x4 trip with the host and their dogs up into the proteas. Will definitely visit again.

Asemrowende omgewing, Netjiese en veilige verblyf. Sprokiesverhaal, 4x4, proteas, dierevriendelik.

Tussen die berge, weg van die stad se geraas kan 'n mens weer asemhaal in hierdie huisie wat gebou is met liefde en drome. Hierdie pragtige wit huisie met groen dak lyk en voel asof hy reguit uit n sprokiesverhaal kom. Geleë op n plaas met 'n verskeidenheid van aktiwiteite, van staproetes na die waterstroom, regdeur na 4x4-roetes om proteas te gaan kyk in die berge, selfs perdry na watervalle as die weer dit toelaat. Dit was so rustig ons het nie een oomblik terug verlang na die stad se gewoel. Die huisie bied beslis alles wat mens nodig het. Met 'n houtstoof binne en 'n braaiplek buite kort 'n mens nie veel meer om die regte atmosfeer te skep nie. Proteaceae sien ons beslis weer!

Between the mountains, away from the city's noise, one can breathe again in this little house that was built with love and dreams. This beautiful white house with a green roof looks and feels like it's straight out of a fairy tale. Located on a farm with a variety of activities, from hiking trails to the water stream, through to 4x4 trails to go see proteas in the mountains, even horseback riding to waterfalls if the weather permits. It was so peaceful that we didn't want to go back to the hustle and bustle of the city. The cottage certainly offers everything one needs. With a wood-burning stove inside and a barbecue area outside, you don't need much more to create the right atmosphere. Proteaceae will definitely see you again!
