Unfortunately Piet Retief is hit *HARD* with Eskom and Internal (Municipal) loadshedding (17-20 hours at a time), and even though we do have solar and generators for our guest's convenience, we do struggle with network and the internet because of power interruptions at service providers. Tower batteries only last a certain amount of hours, and with loadshedding as bad as ours, the local lowers and network providers have trouble getting the batteries charged because electricity is only on for 30 minutes at a time...if we're lucky.
This results in emails "disappearing" and often not received, phones not working (landlines and cellphones), etc.
