Before we even arrived, the owner sent us a message to introduce themselves, they sent through an exact location, advised on the route and gave us the load shedding schedule. When we got there, they gave us a tour of the house which consisted of multiple bedrooms with a mixture of double and single beds. The linens were clean, crisp and fresh with plenty of pillows and one of the most amazing beds I have ever slept in. The kitchen had two very nice fridges, all of the cutlery and crockery you could possibly need. We spent the majority of our time outside at the braai, which was very clean and easy to use. The shower's water pressure was absolutely wonderful, and after every bout of load shedding, the friendly owner came to turn the geyser on and we had no issues with cold water. The owners were very welcoming and sent us a flyer for activities happening in the area, including a frog catching night which we will definitely be returning to participate in! I will definitely be returning to the Duchy Guesthouse. The only thing I would want to add is maybe a small splash pool for those hot summer days. Other than that, I would not change a thing. We felt very safe and at home. Thank you so much for all the care. We will be back soon!

Nice on the stoep & friendly owner.

From the street the house looks neglected, with a rusted zinc roof and farm type wire gate, The garden is neat. The floors are a combination of chipped cement, tiles, and wood. We were unsure on the wooden floor and fell through the floors on 3 occasions on the first day due to rotten boards. . I would love to stay there again when the necessary maintenance is done.
