The Folly

Excellent vacation spot for anyone looking for a restful holiday.

Our stay at The Folly was incredible, and this beautiful home facilitated one of the most restful holidays I've had in a while. Upon arrival, we were greeted with an extremely clean, great-smelling, and beautifully decorated space. We immediately felt at home with no work required to make ourselves comfortable. The home was equipped with soft towels, quality toilet paper, an abundance of toiletries, and beautiful linen. The fully-equipped and fantastically large kitchen made cooking fun. The additions of a Smart TV, WiFi, and a soundbar provided great entertainment in the evenings. The Folly is around 5 minutes' walking distance from a beautiful viewpoint near the Dam water. This viewing point is very well-kept and clean, equipped with some seating. The best part of this property, however, is the beautiful view of the Vanderkloof Dam and surrounding mountains from the outside deck. This is a wonderful place to spend time with loved ones and share a braai. I would absolutely recommend a stay at The Folly to anyone looking to visit the charming town of Vanderkloof. This is the closest you'll find to a home away from home.

Simply stunning - unexpected elegance and luxury in such a remote location.

The accommodation was an absolute delight! So much care and attention has been paid to this home; it took our breath away. We have travelled the length and breadth of South Africa, staying in its tiniest dorpies, and we have never experienced such well-appointed accommodation at such reasonable pricing. With breathtaking amenities, from a kitchen that Gordon Ramsey would swear by, to an outdoor heated shower, you will want for nothing! This is a must. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Absolutely wonderful.

Vanderkloof is a small village filled with the most friendly people. There is no doubt we will return. The dam is surrounded by a nature reserve, so a boat trip for nature lovers is essential. We saw scores of birds and antelope. The rock formations bordering the dam are astounding as well. We even tried fishing, though not successful, it was fun. It would have been a very unlucky fish that was caught by us, so this is a must for more experienced fishermen. All in all, our stay at The Folly was superb.

Waarde vir geld. Pragtig. Stylvol.

Vir seker 'n moet. Als waaraan jy kan dink en meer. Dit is 'n moet.

Pragtig en bederf, luuks en verwelkomend.

Ons het dit vreeslik geniet en behoorlik soos royalty gevoel om in so 'n spoggerige plek te kon bly.

Stunning home and view.

A beautiful home, wonderfully appointed, and located with a fabulous view over the dam. The best bed I've ever slept in, and all the amenities you can imagine including a pizza oven. The host/agent's service was impeccable. Wish we could have stayed longer but we'll be back.

Vriendlike ontvangs, perfekte ligging en pragtige huis.

Wonderlike uitsig oor die dam. Huis is ongelooflik mooi en netjies. Alles was 100%. Sal beslis weer bespreek.

Beste oorslaap ooit. Niks ontbreek nie, beveel The Folly vir seker aan.

Met aankoms was ons verras en kon nie vir 'n beter begin van ons vakansie gevra het nie.

Pragtige plek.

Baie mooi plek met topfasiliteite. Ons het baie lekker gekuier.

Aangenaam verras. Pragtig, stylvol, kwaliteit, pragtige uitsig oor 'n deel van die dam. Tuis.

Ons het heeldag gery en dit was so lekker (al was dit loadshedding) om daar in te stap. Pratig gemeubileerde plek. Kwaliteitbed en linne - was 'n droom in om die bed te klim daai aand. Baie dankie. Sal vir seker weer daar gaan bly!

'n Huis wat duidelik sê "Welkom by die Folly" ons deel graag hierdie belewenis met jou en wil hê jy moet lekker vakansie.

Die Folly het die pragtigste dekor, dis warm en vriendelik soveel spasie en tog so cosy. Eenheid is fantasties toegrus. Uitsig van die stoep is iets anders - iets wat jy self moet beleef en nie oorvertel nie. Een van die mooiste plekke wat ons nog by oorgeslaap het. Eienaars het uit hulle pad gegaan om vir ons al die inligting moontlik te gee, beurtkrag skedule, aanwysings, eetplekkies, winkels en nog meer. Ons kan nie genoeg dankie sê nie, als was puik! Pragtige dorp en nog eg mense in die omgewing, voel of ons by vriende gaan kuier het. Lieflik, ons kom gou terug.
