What a beauty.

The stay is incredible, the view makes you feel like you are in a lush green forest. The suspension bridge towards the house is fun. It is truly in the middle of nowhere, requiring at least a 20-minute ride from Calitzdorp. But that is the whole experience of it. I went with a town car and it's a good gravel road to drive on. The house has everything that you need. There was even a good coffee espresso machine for ground coffee, and a decanter of port. The night sky is beautiful, and as a solo traveler, I felt really safe. The host is a great and loves to welcome you to his atelier/house for some coffee or tea.

Stilte. 'n Berg. 'n Kabbelende rivier. Wilgebome. Voelsang. Privaatheid. Keurige kuns. Gemaklike meubels en bed. Groot kaggel (met hout). Warm stort. Alles wat nodig is vir 'n wegbreek naweek.

‘n Perfekte wegbreekbestemming. Dit is voorwaar ‘n versteekte paradys waar jy weer die eenvoudige vreugdes kan geniet in asemrowend natuurskoon. Die hangbrug en die kaggel was beslis van die hoogtepunte. Selfs die hondegeselskap het dit nog meer na huis laat voel. Dankie vir die stories, Peter. Wens ons kon langer bly.

The Hangman's Lookout is everything and more! Lovely stay with beautiful views from anywhere- even your toilet! The silence is amazing.

Wonderful and peaceful.

This is a peaceful and serene location. We had a relaxing stay in between the treetops and thoroughly enjoyed the visit from Chunky the resident dog. The sound of the river just outside your door is absolutely amazing! The owner is sweet and welcoming and the cottage is perfectly equipped with everything one needs. We had a great stay!

Magical treetop getaway.

Wow, what can I say? What an unexpected gem in the middle of nowhere. The sound of the stream nearby was so soothing and waking up to the birds chirping was exactly the type of R & R that we needed. We would love to come back in winter to make use of that incredible inside fire! I cannot recommend this enough for a quiet getaway. The Delonghi coffee machine was also amazing (I have one at home and can't go back to instant coffee) so appreciated that little extra piece of luxury.
