Scenic location, sandstone buildings. Sunflower fields in bloom in the surrounding area. The host is a very hospitable person.

A beautiful farm where you can enjoy the beautiful mountains and natural fountains with so much birdlife and lovely owners.

Simple, but great. Warm - suitable even in winter.

The place is suitable for people who enjoy short hikes with slightly rugged terrain. Please ask the owner, Antonie Du Toit, for directions. If you choose the wrong path, you won't reach the top of the hill. The owners are very friendly. The houses have thick walls, so they stay warm even in winter. A heater and electric blankets were provided for us.

Rustige atmosfeer en alles wat jy benodig in 'n self-catering eenheid. Groot grasperke, mooi natuurskoon en besienswaardighede met goeie diens en geselskap.

Dream guest farm tucked away in the mountains.

We were greeted when we arrived by Antonie who was kind and cordial and took us to our cute and quaint chalet. They had good vintage furniture with beautiful windows overlooking the stunning scenery. Just a few km from the farm. You can visit the small town of Ladybrand where you can also top up on any needs. They have beautiful trails on the farm and you can have a picnic at the dam. It was beautiful and we will gladly return again.

Villa St Joseph is prentjiemooi! Daar is ook 'n ou kerkie wat jou na 'n ander wêreld wegvoer. Antonie en sy vrou is gasvry en baie vriendelik - ons hoop om weer daar te kan oornag in die toekoms.

A Little Piece of Paradise.

What a magical place, stunning garden and surrounding farm, which includes a chapel on the property. Very friendly and hospitable hosts. The trees were dripping with fruit when we visited in Feb. We would have loved to stay longer.

VSJ is an amazing find and we will return. It has such a calm, relaxing atmosphere and the whole environment is a joy to experience. Wonderful quiet walk. Lots of beautiful birds. The accommodation is comfortable and clean. As everywhere in SA there are power cuts, so having a gas geyser and gas stove was so convenient. Definitely a place we will return to.

Naby aan Ladybrand, aan die hange van berge met pragtige sandsteen formasies. Huisie bevat alles wat mens benodig. Die werf is pragtig met baie voëls en 'n ou kerkie. Vriendelike gasheer.

Baie vriendelik ontvang, eenheid netjies en ruim met al die benodighede.

Baie mooi omgewing en gerieflik saam met natuur.

Great ligging. Slegte paaie.

Die omliggende 50 km se paaie is meer pothole as pad. Moet nie in die aand ry nie. Baie gawe mense, gemaklike blyplek.

Oornagverblyf op pad Drakensberg toe.

'n Geskiedkundige kleinood, pragtig herstel en onderhou. Rustiek, silwerskoon, goed toegerus en veilig. Antonie was baie behulpsaam, het selfs agtergeblewe items vir ons aangestuur.

Awesome and cosy place.

Enough firewood for the fireplace. Very friendly service. Awesome setting and a lot of firewood for the winter nights. House is well equipped. Peaceful and quiet.

We stayed in chalet 6, rustic but with everything one needs for an overnight stay. Lovely to have a fireplace for the cold evenings.

Netjies skoon verblyf, teen billike tariewe met opregte gasvryheid ! Volgende keer bly on langer. Uitstekende plek vir 'n retreat of meditasie. Met 'n regte takbok wat saam met die bonsmaras rondloop!

Antonie en Philreen uitstekende gashere. Netjies, skoon met alles wat nodig is akkommodasie. Die rustigheid en vrye natuur laai enigiemand se battery. Warm kaggelvuur terwyl die reën buite val, was heerlik. Beveel enigiemand aan om Villa St Joseph 'n oorslaap (sommer 'n week) te maak.

Lekker plek vir 'n wegbreek uit die stad. 'n Lekker maklike stap op die plaas. Pragtige berge rondom 'n mens. Vriendelike gasheer.

A total gem.

A total gem of a cottage. Clean, small but comfy, interior matching the feel of the stone building. The owners make you feel welcome with the little details (fresh flowers on the table, bar of nougat on the bed, fresh milk in the fridge and the friendly chat). The little church next door is just adding to the old-world, lost treasure atmosphere. If you value history and a relaxing environment, you will feel at home. After sunset, all you hear is thousands of crickets under the millions of stars (no light pollution). It is a place where I want to go back to spend more time. Well worth a (longer) visit.

Lovely location, very good value.

The location is beautiful, the room was adequate although nothing fancy. There was an electric blanket and a heater so I was very comfortable. Bathroom was a bit old fashioned, but the shower pressure was good and water was nice and hot. It is quite a way outside Ladybrand and I got a bit lost, it was dark and I was starting to panic a bit but I phoned Antonie and he met me at the turnoff so I got there eventually. For the price, you really can't complain.

Fantasties!

Ons het slegs vir 'n Saterdag oornag, wegbreek uit die stad en ons asems was weggeslaan deur die natuurskoon, die plaas se netheid, vriendelikheid en behulpsaamheid van die eienaars. Alles was net uit die boeke. Ons gaan definitief weer by Villa St Joseph kuier en sommer gou ook. Dis 'n juweel tussen êrens en nêrens, dis 'n moet sien!

As jy niks wil doen nie is dit die plek, weg van alles en rustige atmosfeer.

Baie rustig, daar is letterlik niks om te doen nie wat 'n probleem is as jy kinders het, geen DStv of visvang of ander aktiwiteite nie. Daar is ook permanente huurders wat op perseel bly wat dinge bemoeilik en daar kort 'n vakansieatmosfeer. 'n Ander probleem is dat Ladybrand nie 'n slaghuis het nie en dat jy van daar na Bloemfontein (120 km ) moet reis om vleis aan te koop. Die omgewing is egter baie mooi.

Philene and Antonie were very friendly and we really enjoy the quietness and the beautiful mountains and sunsets.

Awesome setting, easy to find with correct directions. Antonie moved us to a bigger unit then what we booked as the guests for that one cancelled. They were very friendly and showed us the hiking trials. Gave permission to pick fresh lemons whenever we wanted. Beautiful view of mountains from unit. Was unfortunately very dry, little rain up till then. Will definitely recommend the quiet setting to family and friends.

Pragtige landelike omgewing. Geskiedkundige sandsteengeboue wat passievol deur eienaars gerestoureer is. Dit was ‘n voorreg om daar te kon oornag en tyd saam met Antonie en Philreen te kon deurbring.

Uitstekende keuse.

Dit was 'n wonderlike ervaring en uitsonderlike gasvryheid van Antonie en sy vrou. Sal definitief weer van hulle gebruik maak en sal meer mense na hulle verwys.
