Breakage Deposit

A refundable breakage deposit of R1200 is payable directly to the establishment.

House Rules

Please note that there is a gravel road leading to the establishment. Guests are required to enquire about the condition of the road, before arrival, as it could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

1. Reservations and Payment and Terms
1.1. The establishment operates on a self-catering basis and does not provide or arrange other services such as meals, personal laundry, transport, tours, functions, events, parties, baby sitting, and conferences. We will however, on request endeavour to provide details of suppliers that should be able to provide these services directly to the guest.
1.2. The names and relationship of the persons sharing the unit must be provided when the reservation is made. The number of persons using the accommodation at any time must not exceed 4 and only those people listed on the booking form can occupy the cabin. We reserve the right to terminate the booking without notice and without refund in case of a breach of this condition.
1.2.1 The owner reserves the right to refuse a booking without giving any reasons.
1.3. Reservations will not be confirmed until the booking form and proof of payment is provided to us at which time we will send a confirmation form with relevant reservation details to the guest.
1.4. Payment Terms/Cancellations: A 50% deposit is required to secure bookings. The balance should be paid in full prior to arrival, except for peak period bookings, which are payable in full 30 days before arrival.
2. Cancellations If cancelled 30 days prior to arrival, 0% of the total price of the reservation will be charged and will be 100% refunded except for peak period bookings. If cancelled between 21 and 30 DAYS before arrival date, 50% of the total price of the reservation will be charged. If cancelled in LESS 7 DAYS before arrival date, 100% of the total price of the reservation will be charged and there will be no refund. Your booking will not be cancelled by the owner except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control. Notification will be given of the cancelation as soon as possible and we will promptly refund all payments made for your stay. Our liability for cancellation will be limited to payments made to us.
3. Deposit Fees EFT is the preferred method of payment. Once payment reflects in our account booking will be confirmed.
4. Breakage Deposits
1.4.1 A refundable breakage deposit is payable on the cottages. Refunds are processed within max 3 working days after departure. No cash refunds will be issued on departure.
1.4.2 The guest retains personal liability for the bill until the employer, agent, or person that made the reservation on his or her behalf has settled it.
1.4.3. Rates are subject to change without notice. Quotations are valid for 24 hours unless otherwise specified and subject to availability upon acceptance. In case of a double booking the payment that reflects in the bank account first will secure the accommodation and the later payment will be refunded in full.
1.4.4. Refunds on cancellations will only be made after payment has been finally cleared by the bank. This process can take in excess of 30 days.
5. Arrival and Departure
5.1. Check in time is between 14:00 and 20:00 unless prior arrangements have been made.
5.2. Check out time is by 10:00 unless prior arrangements have been made. This is to enable the room to be prepared in time for new arrivals. Late check outs may be charged for.
6. Parking and Access
6.1. One remote control and set of keys is provided per unit. The cost of replacement keys and remote control is R400.00. Please note that in the event that any keys and remotes issued are not returned at the end of your stay, then the cost of replacement will be charged to you. Rooms must be locked, windows closed and keys handed in to the caretaker prior to departure.
6.2. Entering of game enclosures and dams (for fishing) at own risk.
6.3. Children to be accompanied by parents and supervised by parents at all times.
6.4. Game and cattle to be treated as dangerous animals at all times.
6.5. No visitors will be permitted without permission. We accept no responsibility for any loss or damage.
6.6. Parking under carports is reserved for guests only. Guests may only park on their designated parking.
7. Service Hours
7.1. The office is contactable from 08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 14:00 on weekends and public holidays.
8. Security & Storage
8.1. Although the establishment takes reasonable steps to ensure the safety and security of guests and their possessions guests retain final responsibility for their own safety and security. We will not be held responsible for loss or damage of any property brought onto the premises, whether arising from fire, theft or from other causes. Keep units locked at all times.
9. Braai/Entertainment Facilities and rules
9.1. Each unit has a private braai. Please do be considerate when it comes to noise levels. No loud music is permitted. No noise/shouting before 08:00 or after 22:00.
9.2. The guest may in no circumstance re-let or sub-let the property, even free of charge
9.3. We reserve the right to terminate your booking without compensation where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named in the booking (or their guest) may impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of others.
9.4. Visitors – No more than 4 visitors are permitted at any one time without prior arrangements with host. Visitors should vacate the cabins by 22:00. No parties or social gathering are allowed with more than 4 visitors at any given time. No intoxicated visitor will be allowed on premises.
9.5. Fishing allowed on “catch and release” basis only.
9.6. Feeding of any animals prohibited.
9.7. No fireworks to be let off on or around the property.
9.8. Any problem or complaint which the guest may have concerning their stay must be immediately reported directly to us and we will endeavour to put matters rights. Any complaints not reported to us at the time and only reported after the guests has returned from holiday will not be considered by the proprietor.
10. Plumbing/Electrics
10.1. Please be considerate when it comes to the use of the plumbing and electrics. Kindly switch of most lights when not in a room and ensure the outside lights for your unit are switched off in the morning.
11. Smoking
11.1. Smoking is not permitted in the units. Smoking in the units will result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments.
12. Loss or Damage to Establishment Property
12.1. In making a booking you except responsibility for any theft, breakage or damage caused by you or any member of your party and agree to indemnify us in full for any loss that we may incur as a result. Please treat the facilities and accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. If there have been any breakages during your stay we would be grateful if you could replace them or advise us before you leave. The accommodation will be inspected at the end of the holiday and you may be charged for any loss or damage found. The owner reserves the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the guest leaves the property in an unacceptable condition.
13. General Incapacity
13.1. The establishment cannot be held liable if any of the following events or conditions prevents us from fulfilling our obligation to guests. We will take all reasonable steps to minimize disruption and discomfort to guests under these conditions.
13.1.1. Unanticipated interruption to the electricity, water, sewage to, from or on the guest house property.
13.1.2. Industrial action, civil uprising or criminal activity.
13.1.3. Fire, frost, flooding, subsidence or any other force major event.
14. Limit to Liability The maximum liability of the establishment for any event or condition for which a guest may institute a claim is limited to the value of one day’s accommodation. This property is privately owned and is our home. We expect all guests to enjoy the facilities and treat the property with the same respect that they would with their own house.
