Kamers nie net. Warm/koue water omgeruil. Kinders heeltemal in aparte kamers. Sekuriteit toon nie professionele gedrag nie. Parkering onnet. Beste was die bar-area.

Baie dankie vir die terugvoering, bly om te verneem julle is veilig terug by die huis. Jammer oor die krane se warm en koue tekens was omgeruil was. Dit gebeur soms dat n gas uit boek en dan n peots vir die volgende persoon wil bak. Die twee tekens was net omgeruil, dit is nou weer reg gestel.

Ek verstaan egter nie die kinders in ander kamer opmerking nie? Die twee kamers is dan reg teen mekaar en jy loop deur die een kamer om in die ander te kom, geen gang of niks nie. Dit is dan presies dieslfde as in n normale huis. Verstaan egter nie hoe daar op kan verbeter doen nie? As jy n gedagte daarom het, deel dit asb en graag maak ek so.

Die parkering is informeel in die tuine. Mens is dan immers op vakansie en wil nie onnodig met wit strepe ingeperk wees nie... Sal bietjie let op sekuriteit se gedrag en kyk waar ons kan verbeter. Hul neem maar partykeer kanse oor hierdie tydperk.

Dankie dat jul Woodpecker Inn jul akkommodasie van keuse hier in Richardsbaai gemaak het. Graag verwelkom ons jul weer hier by ons.

Ok.

Die verblyf oor die algemeen was ok. Ek sou net wil sien dat gastehuise ook insekweermiddel (doom) in die kamers het om van die peste van muskiete ontslae kan raak. Dis 'n groot probleem veral met grasdakkamers.

Regtig beknop en slegs met 'n "push" vir 'n enkel kontrakwerker wat nie kieskeurig is nie.

Die kamer het net een handdoek gehad en feitlik 'n opgebruikte toiletpapier. Die buitemeubels was lanklaas skoongemaak. Die middag/aand personeel is vriendelik maar dit is dit. Die kos om in een woord te sê haglik. Die kok se ondervinding is sekerlik nie 'n opgeleide een en werk al jare daar. Die "crumbed " beslag is net een woord sleg en is dieselfde vir eisbein, varktjop en skaaptjop. Verskriklike affêre plus groente is seker dwarsdeur die vorige dag gekook Vrotsig!

Thank you for your valued review, these reviews are very important to us, it helps us to stay the number 1 guest house in Zululand when it comes to value for money.

Woodpecker Inn has rooms of various sizes and some of these rooms sleep from 1 person up to 6 people. Some with kitchens, balconies and much more, there are also rooms for those with a tight budget and they are a bit smaller. The rooms are yearly inspected by the South African Tourism Grading Council and we are told that we can qualify as a 4-star establishment, but we choose to remain a 3-star graded establishment. The reason for that is that too often people do not inquire at 4-star establishments, they perceive them to be a bit expensive. Our rooms have various rates as well, you chose to pay the cheaper rate, hence the smaller room. On your next visit to us, please ask the friendly ladies at reception what your room options are, they will gladly show you the different options.

Woodpecker Inn is a green establishment, and saving our environment is always high on our agenda, For this reason, a half full roll of toilet paper is not to be thrown away. However, there are full rolls to the left of the toilet, next to the sanitary towels.

July and August are our windy months, every resident in Richards Bay will tell you that it is a constant battle to keep outside furniture dust free. It is our gardener's daily task to wipe off all garden furniture, but I do apologize that it does not stay dust free all day.

Also, I'm so sorry to hear your meal was not to your personal taste. May I please ask you, when next you place your order, that you let the waiter know how exactly you prefer your dinner. Our highly trained chef, who has catered for ministers in the past, will then bend over backwards as to assure it is to your personal taste.

Jan, I would like to have you as a valued guest again, and show you the reason why Woodpecker Inn has won the best guest house in Zululand award, not once, not twice, but on numerous occasions.

We didn't sleep comfortably.

We had to ring the bell a few times to get someone to check us in. The bed and especially the pillows were rock hard. There wasn't even a water bottle in the fridge. We won't book this accommodation again.

I'm so sorry to hear that you found the bed a little hard, overall the vast majority of our valued guests find our beds to be the most comfortable that they have ever had the privilege to sleep on. Bed preferences are a personal taste and unfortunately no establishment will ever have it 100% correct for every single individual. Some time ago we had a guest saying the bed was too soft, we all have our own preferences... Should you in future find something in your room which is not to your personal taste, please do let reception know and we will do our utmost to accommodate you. In this case housekeeping could've been there in 10 minutes to put a duvet under the bed protector and you would've received a new water bottle, there was no need to be uncomfortable, that is the very last thing we want.

I do apologize that the receptionist could not assist you with the 1st ring of the bell, she was however busy assisting guests at the moment.

I would like to thank you for the feedback, every single review is of utmost importance to us. We at Woodpecker Inn are constantly looking at ways to improve and to remain the number one guesthouse in Zululand. We've once again been voted as the number one guesthouse in Zululand, this is largely due to these valued reviews.

Dit was 'n baie lekker, stil twee dae wat ek ons daar kon ontspan.

Ek het my verblyf by hulle baie geniet. Pluspunt vir die lodge is die a la carte-restaurant op die perseel. As ek en my vrou toevallig by 'n uiteetplek aansit, dan bestel ek vis vir my hoofgereg, want ek bly op 'n plaas en eet elke dag vleis. Ek het hake wat in 'n deeg gaar gemaak is bestel en het vir die dame wat ons bedien het gesê dit is die grootste porsie en die lekkerste wat ek nog by 'n uiteetplek gekry het. My grootste komplimente gaan aan hulle vir die lekker ete en die diens wat ons in die restaurant en oor die algemeen gekry het en sal hulle enige tyd vir iemand aanbeveel. Dankie, dit was puik.

Baie bly jul het lekker gekuier en ek sal jul danke oordra aan die personeel, veral die kombuis en restaurant personeel. Beste motivering is goeie terugvoering.

Nie ons geld werd gewees nie.

Advertensie op webblad is misleidend. Dis baie oud en die bed is ongemaklik. Daar is nie warm water in die stort nie, daar het letterlik geen water uitgekom nie. Ons kon nie die toilet gebruik tensy jy bereid is om die handvatsel vir drie minute in te hou tot als uiteindelik wegspoel het nie. Hulle het genoem van waterdruk, maar ons seun en ma se kamer het genoeg waterdruk gehad. Glad nie veilig nie. Nie omhein nie. Geen veiligheidsdeur voor die glasdeur nie.

Die hele KZN en so ook Richardsbaai bevind tans die grootste droogte in jare. Die Munisipaliteit van Richardsbaai het alle waterlyne tot en met 75% water druk verminder, daar is al 'watershedding' skedules ook uitgegee. Daar is werklik nie genoegsaam water in die omgewing nie. Ek is regtig jammer as die water tekort dit vir jul ongemaklik gemaak het, maar as daar nie water is om te gee nie, kan ons regtig net werk met wat ons het. Wat die veiligheid aan betref, kan ek jou verseker jy gaan nie maklik veiliger as Woodpecker Inn kry nie. In die 21 jaar van ons bestaan het ons nie een enkele insident gehad nie, daar is min besighede wat vandag dieselfde kan sê. As mens weg gaan wil jy nie elke oggend 20 slotte oop sluit om uit te gaan of 20 slotte sluit voor jy kan gaan slaap nie. Jy wil ontspan, met die wete dat ander na jou omsien, dit is juis die geval hier by Woodpecker Inn. Elke dag is daar twee wagte aan diens, wat die heeltyd patrolleer. Daar is kameras reg deur die gastehuis, 3 verskillende 'armed response' maatskappye gebruik Woodpecker Inn as hul basis hier in Birdswood en parkeer hul voertuie reg voor die perseel, ek myself is hoof van die plaaslike CPF en daar word elke oggend, middag en aand patrollie gery, hier is ook amper elke week n lid van die SAPD wat hier bly a.g.v. kursusse wat hul doen. Veiligheid beteken nie hoë mure en toe hekke nie, sodra hul oor die muur of agter die toe hek is, kan niemand sien wat daar gebeur nie en het die skelms Carte Blanhce. Veiligheid hier by Woodpecker Inn begin al 5 strate ver weg, ons is elke dag betrokke met die stryd teen misdaad, dus ons sukses met n rekord van 21 jaar sonder n insident.

Maar Hein, daar is goeie nuus vir ons almal, die afgelope tydjie het ons al 'n paar druppels water gekry, nog glad nie genoeg nie, maar daar is hoop. Ons het ook nou groot opgaartenks bekom met hoë druk waterpompe, so met die bietjie reën wat ons nou kry, sal ons binnekort na ons eie watersake kan omsien.

Mors van geld en kosbare tyd.

Ek het ongelukkig niks goed om te sê van die plek nie. Ons moes ons vakansie kortknip omrede hulle nie bereid was om ons geld terug te betaal nie. Hulle kliëntediens is ongelooflik swak. Niemand is bereid om te help nie, maar vinnig om reg te staan vir die geld. Ons het klagtes gelê by LekkeSlaap van die plek wat onnet is; die lugversorger word bo gehou met papier; dis oud en het snags vanself afgegaan of was af gesit. Alles is oud, maar op die advertensies word die plekke as modern beskryf. Die plek is glad nie veilig nie. Deure staan oop en word nie gesluit in die nag nie en daar is geen veilige parkering vir die motors nie. Daar is geen sekuriteit-omheining, 'n hek of selfs gekontroleerde uitgang nie. Weereens word dit op die advertensie beskryf as 'veilige parkering'. Ek het die eienaar asook die mense wat daar werk gevra wat keer enigeen om daar in te stap en alles te vat, toe sê hulle enigeen kan die perseel betree, maar dit is veilig. Al wat ons van die straat beskerm het is die deur van ons kamer. Ek is baie teleurgesteld in LekkeSlaap asook Woodpecker Inn. In my oë was dit 'n valse advertensie wat geplaas is en is ek bitter spyt ek het nie voor ek bespreek het na die opmerkings gekyk nie en meer navorsing gedoen oor die area nie. Ons het al deur LekkeSlaap bespreek en vertrou al hulle opmerkings is reg vir die plek.

Rustig en vriendelike diens.

Skoon en netjies in kamers. Ontbyt was uit die boonste rakke! Personeel vriendelik en altyd hulpvaardig. Baie huislike atmosfeer.

Great place in a relaxing enviroment.

We enjoyed our stay at Woodpecker Inn, so much so that we are planning a family trip (20 people).

Excellent value for money.

Real value for your money. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They serve an unbelievable breakfast. I only have one criticism, the rooms are within close proximity to each other and some guests were quite noisy.

Ons het vir vriende by Meerensee Karavaanpark gaan kuier. Sou oorspronklik net twee aande slaap, maar het toe oorgebly vir drie aande.

Sal weer daar gaan bly. Kamers lieflik, skoon en netjies. Etes baie goed. Ontbyt sowel as a la carte restaurant. Personeel baie vriendelik en behulpsaam.

Pragtige plek, sommige kamers is ruim en gemaklik, maar daar is ook dié wat klein en beknop is. Jammer dat hulle beddegoed oud en handdoeke uitgerafel was.

Is eers in baie klein en raserige kamer geplaas. Na ons gekla het, is ons na die kamer verskuif wat ons aanvanklik bespreek het. Dit was ruim en gemaklik met aansienlik minder geraas.

Ons het regtig baie lekker gebly by Woodpecker Inn. Ons sal definitief weer daar gaan bly vir 'n vakansie.

Ons het die vakansie baie geniet. Ek het net ondervind dat die badkamer nie op standaard was nie, die stort se dreindoppie was stukkend en mens kan jou voete nogal lelik seer maak. Die toiletsitplek was ook gekraak. Aangesien dit nogal baie warm word in Natal in die somermaande stel ek voor dat die lugversorging opgegradeer word. Ek dink ook daar gemeld moet word dat die kombuis in die huisie bespreek kan word vir 6 mense of meer teen ekstra koste.

Glad nie op standaard nie en teleurstellend.

Ons het dit glad nie geniet nie. Die een vrou (baie gaaf) het wel vir my blomme gebring en om verskoning gevra. Ek het dit nogal waardeer. Die ander vrou, Marinda Venter het nooit om verskoning gevra nie. Sy was uiters ongeskik en onprofessioneel. Ek en my man het 2 dae voor die tyd verstreke was al huistoe gegaan. My dogter en haar man het toe maar nog aangebly. Die plek is na my mening glad nie op standaard nie. Dis morsig vuil. Die muf en mos sit oral. Die stortgordyn was morsig vuil. Ek het skoon naar gevoel om daar te stort Ek is glad nie verbaas dat daar nog plek beskikbaar was nie. Vir die prys kan mens ook seker nie beter verwag nie. Die gradering van die plek is ook nie volgens standaard nie. 3-ster!? Nee wat, ek het al by menigte plekke gebly wat nie eers 1-ster is nie wat beter standaarde het. Met ons aankoms was dit ook vir ons uitgespel dat ons die skottelgoed self moet was. Die skoonmakers is ook nie behoorlik opgelei nie. Geen respek vir die gaste se privaatheid nie. Die handdoeke lyk of dit 10 jaar laas vervang is. Daar was nie geseëlde badseep nie en ook geen sjampoe nie. Hulle het wel aan my dogter genoem dat hulle een nag se geld sou terugbetaal. Na my mening was dit 'n absolute mors van geld en kosbare tyd.

Ongelukkig kan ek niks goed van die plek sê nie.

Die plek is vervalle en kort 'n hengse "makeover". Dis ook nie 'n plek vir jongmense nie aangesien daar geen aktiwiteite vir jongmense is nie. Ek sal beslis niemand aanraai om by die Woodpecker Inn tuis te gaan nie. Ongeorganiseerd, fasiliteite word van mens weggevat nadat dit gegee is. Swembad is baie klein en beknop, lugversorging baie oud en breek gereeld, TV's oud en kleur pateties, stortgordyn gemuf en kamers vuil ontvang. Yskaste in kamers vuil en stink, dit word nie skoongemaak nie.

Die verblyf was baie lekker!

Dit is 'n baie rustige area. Ons kon elke aand braai. Ek sal dit verseker aanbeveel.

Verblyf het aan ons verwagtinge voldoen en ons sal weer daar tuisgaan.

Lieflike omgewing, mooi tuin en swembadarea. Het baie gerieflik gebly. Oor die algemeen is die geboue baie mooi en binneversiering getuig van goeie smaak.
