Ebony House - Mjejane Game Reserve

Fantastic stay at Ebony House.

Mooi huis, reservaat teleurstellend.

Die huis is baie mooi - soos op die foto's. Die hoofslaapkamer se lugversorger lawaai egter vreeslik en drup baie water op die bed, wat dit onmoontlik maak om daar te slaap. Twee van die kamers het aparte ingange van buite, wat beteken jy moet in die nag uit die huis uit om dit te gebruik - dit werk nie met kinders goed nie. Die advertensie lui: "Die wildreservaat strek oor ongeveer 4000 hektaar langs die Krokodilrivier en bied 'n groot netwerk van privaat wildritpaaie vir diegene wat die selfrit-opsie geniet", maar geen selfritte was toegelaat nie. Ons het beplan om selfritte te doen, wat dus nie moontlik was nie en die wildrit wat ons wou bespreek was volbespreek en dus ook nie beskikbaar nie. Vir die prys was die reservaat nie so toeganklik vir wildbesigtiging as wat ons verwag het nie. Ons sal nie weer na Mjejane gaan nie.

Well equipped the house with and great layout. The game and sightings were wonderful.

Excellent location, beautiful house with lovely furnishing.

The house location is next to a fence where we had elephants grazing in front of the patio. The game drives at Mjejane Game Reserve were excellent and we saw everything that was on our wish list. Highly recommended!

Stunning house and location. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing stay and will definitely be returning. How can you beat watching game wander by whilst drinking sundowners on the deck? Ideally located near our favourite spot of Crocodile Bridge. The house is stunning and communication was spot on. This is a holiday of a lifetime and yet priced that we can do it again. Our advice to other travelers is to book now.

Ebony is spacious and well-equipped. It is a perfect place to accommodate a group of friends.

Great, spacious house, great service and fantastic experience with animals coming to visit us in the garden.

The house was exceeded our expectations and I loved the warthogs coming to eat in the garden so close to us. Will definitely recommend Ebony House.

We had an amazing stay at Ebony House.

The house is modern and clean. The main house has 2 bedrooms and then there are two rooms with separate entrances. This worked well for our group. A recommendation from my side would be to add some items in the kitchen (such as salad and serving spoons and oven gloves). Also, bedside tables in the second bedroom (in the main house) would be great. Due to the nature of our group, we also found the fact that there aren't blinds in front of some of the shower and toilet windows a bit awkward (as the windows also aren't frosted). This, together with the fact that the bedrooms only have sheer curtains, meant that there wasn't much privacy for getting dressed; especially in the evenings. This may however just be a personal preference. We really enjoyed our time at Ebony House.

Fantastic location and meets most needs.

We really enjoyed our stay, aircons in rooms are to small, would suggest a 12000BTU the 9000BTU are too small and work too hard causing aircons to freeze up. Mosquito mesh in front of windows and sliding doors would be great, especially in the summer months for insects. Adding to this we enjoyed our stay very much.

A great time with family.

It was amazing. The house is spacious and clean. The rustic look of the house fits the environment perfectly and it was nice to have a few visitors such as monkeys, warthogs etc.

Would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone.

Mooiste ligging!

Mjejane is 'n pragtige wildreservaat. Ons het leeus, renosters, olifante, kameelperde, sebras, verskillende bokkies gesien. Alles gesien op pad na ons verblyf. Verblyf is baie veilig. Die huis se argitektuur is baie mooi.

Tranquil bushveld experience.

We had an amazing weekend with friends watching the animals from the pool. The house is spectacularly beautiful, giving a modern touch to the bush. We booked a game drive with bush camp and saw all of the Big 5 - do however make sure you book well in advance as we were not aware you are not allowed to drive with your own vehicle on the reserve to assist with roads getting too busy, this is a great idea but there are not enough vehicles to accommodate the whole lodge on busy weekends. We will definitely be booking our next weekend away at Ebony House.
