King’s Park
Bloemfontein is fondly known as the “City of roses†and more than 4 000 rose trees have been planted in the rose garden at King’s Park, which was opened in 1925 by the Prince of Wales, Eduard VIII.
Boyden Observatory
This observatory is situated just outside Bloemfontein and is managed by the University of the Free State. This observatory houses several types of telescopes and multi-media presentations on astronomy are also being presented.
