As of September 2021 Woodlands Cottages and Camping is under new ownership.
Situated high on the banks of the Bushman's River, Woodlands is a birder's paradise with a wide variety of species spotted daily including the lovely Loerie. Located just outside Kenton-on-Sea, midway between Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and East London and just down the road from Makhanda (Grahamstown) on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Woodlands Cottages & Camping offers rustic, affordable family and pet-friendly self-catering accommodation in 8 free-standing cottages and 3 guest house rooms in the main house. A variety of layouts allow us to cater for individuals sharing rooms, couples, small families, and multiple cottages for those who need space for a large group. We can accommodate up 46 people. The cottages are tucked away in a lush indigenous garden with access to their own unique and secluded boma bath, making us ideal for the perfect romantic getaway.
The bush camping area has a toilet, shower and washing up facilities for up to 5 pitches.
Guests can enjoy a delicious meal or a drink at the Goat Shed bush bistro & bar which is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Additional facilities on-site include a swimming pool, games room (with pool table and table tennis) and a large lounge area with TV. Enjoy the stress-free environment by relaxing next to the pool, wandering down the path to the river, or at the on-site bar. Spectacular unspoilt beaches, estuaries and rivers are right on the doorstep ready to explore.
We want people to enjoy the outdoors, the beach and our beautiful rivers. From Woodlands and nearby you have the option to experience kayaks, paddles boats, river cruises, bush walks and horse riding. We also get good rates from the nearby game reserve called Sibuya for day trips to see the Big 5 and we are 70 km from Addo Elephant Park.
