It isn’t just a coincidence that both chocolate and Cape Town begin with the letter ‘C’. This beloved city should definitely tickle your taste buds as you could, in fact, call it the Chocolate Capital of South Africa.

That’s why TravelGround decided to round up 4 of the top chocolatiers in Cape Town where you can not only buy chocolate, but also taste, make, and learn about this heart-melting treat.

HONEST ARTISAN CHOCOLATE

Untitled design

Honest Chocolate lies in the heart of Cape Town where you can buy slabs, bonbons and other chocolatey products whilst enjoying a cup of coffee, tea or soothing hot chocolate. At Honest Artisan Chocolate you can buy and enjoy a selection of chocolate truffles, tarts and cakes, as well as their unique dairy-free milkshakes.

People say the banana bread ‘bunny chow’ is to die for, and we agree. Surely something this delicious should be illegal!

You can download their menu here, but in this case, seeing is not believing … The proof is in the pudding, as they say.

LINDT CHOCOLATE STUDIO

If the word ‘Lindt’, and a review declaring it “a truly delectable and memorable experience” won’t persuade you to visit this piece of paradise, then we’re not sure what will.

At Lindt’s Chocolate Studio you can buy assorted truffles, slabs, gifts, and many more sweet treats and desserts, made with the world-famous Swiss chocolate. At Lindt it’s easy to imagine yourself in the world of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.

Not only can you shop till you drop, you can also choose from an array of chocolate art classes to attend. Please see details in the image below.

They also offer a unique truffle workshop where you make up your own box of assorted truffles @ R125 p.p. for 1 hour.
