The intrepid Spec-savers IRONMAN South Africa is taking place on Sunday 14 April 2013, in Nelson Mandela Bay. The triathlon consists of a 3.8km swim, 180.2km cycle, and a 42.2km run. This may sound purely like self-inflicted torture (they lost me at 3.8km swim!), but to the 2000 athletes who train for hours on end, the IRONMAN is one of the most prestigious endurance sport events where they can push their bodies beyond seemingly impossible limits. If you haven’t yet entered, late entries will be open until Friday, 8 March 2013. If you’ve never been inspired to participate or show your support for this courageous challenge, have a look at the video below!
