High up against the southern slopes of the Magaliesberg, 25 km outside of the village of Magaliesburg and 35km before the town of rustenburg, is the guest farm 'thirsty falls'.

There are two beautiful, 1 bedroom and one 2 bedroom cottages, all self contained and fully equipped. Each private cottage nesteld in the fauna and flora of the natural bush, has its own veranda overlooking panoramic views. A fireplace is in each cottage, with a braai on each veranda.

There is swimming pool with lapa, braai and boma area, a pub and tv room with pool table, darts and board games. The rose and herb garden are always keenly admired, fresh produce and herb and plant nursery are available for purchase. Picnic baskets and platters can be ordered when booking. Fresh bakes are available daily from the farmhouse kitchen.

Walks around the farm and hiking into the natural bush are favourite requests.
The bird life is special with many species to be seen. Small wild life is also spotted by our guests as are our shy kudu family that show themselves normally round early dawn and dusk.

The magalies meander is on our doorstep with many activities included in its surrounds.the elephant sanctuary, canopy tours, hot air ballooning, horse trails, trout fishing, candle dipping, shopping and much more. Magaliesburg village has its quaint shops and restaurants, while rustenburg has all the amenities of a large town with shopping mall and tourist attractions. Pilanesburg, the cradle of humankind, sterkfontein caves and lesedi village are all wonderful 'day outings'.

Thirsty falls is a working farm with a new concept of permaculture being practised and applied on its lands. A diversity of trees, herbs and plants are growing to bring back the ecosystems of nature without the harmful usage of chemicals. We enjoy sharing our little farm with anyone who enjoys nature and wants to be part of her.

For that much needed break over a weekend or midweek, take a drive into the countryside and feel nature take over.

We are on the R24 between magaliesburg and rustenburg, just 2 hours from johannesburg and pretoria and 1&1/2 hours from lanseria airport.
